HARD SKIN MANAGEMENT

Hard skin, or callus, is a very common foot problem. It develops over pressure points on the foot and can become very painful if left untreated. Podiatrists are experts in removing excess callus safely with the use of a blade. This will instantly relieve any discomfort and you will also receive great advice on keeping your feet as soft as possible.

CORNS

Corns are another common foot complaint that can cause a lot of pain! Corns are areas of hard skin over areas of high pressure or friction. The most common areas for Corns to develop are between or on the edges of toes and the balls of the feet. Podiatrists treat them by gently removing the deep root of the corn, instantly relieving the pressure. Corns have a habit of reoccurring in the same areas, so we encourage patients to file and cream their feet as much as possible.

TOENAIL CUTTING

Cutting your toenails isn't always the easiest task, but when toenails become damaged, ingrown or thickened it can be even more difficult! Podiatrists are specially trained to cut & manage all kinds of nail problems, including fungal infections, offering expert advice on how to treat and care for them in the best possible way.

INGROWING TOENAILS

Ingrown toenails can be incredibly painful, especially if they become infected. They can be caused by damage to the nail, or a genetic predisposition. Podiatrists will effectively cut the nail back, removing the painful nail spike. They can apply dressings if required, check for signs of infection and advise accordingly, and where necessary refer patients for nail surgery.
