My name is Jenna French and I am a fully qualified and experienced Podiatrist providing a Chiropody/Podiatry service in the area of Bognor Regis.
I am a fully registered member of the Royal College of Podiatry, and Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), a legal requirement of all practicing Podiatrists.
I specialise in the treatment of all foot care problems including:
Toenail cutting
Hard skin and corn removal
Treatment of fungal nails
Verruca treatment
Ingrowing toenail management
Diabetes foot care
Having gained my degree in Podiatry at the University of Southampton in 2007, I now have over 17 years of experience working within the NHS and specialist private practices.
I am highly experienced in the delivery of quality foot care to patients with a wide variety of foot health problems. I also have specialist experience in diabetes foot care, having worked extensively within the diabetes specialist teams.
I now use this previous experience to provide a high quality, specialist podiatry service to patients in a newly developed clinic space within my home in Bognor Regis. I look forward to meeting new patients and keeping the feet of Bognor Regis healthy & happy!
So what's the difference between a Podiatrist & a Chiropodist? And whats a Foot Health Practitioner?
The most qualified Foot Care Specialist out there is a Podiatrist. We have completed a 3 year Bachelor of Science Degree in Podiatry and are experienced in all specialist areas of foot care and treatment. 'Podiatrist' is a protected title, so only clinicians who have completed the 3 year degree can legally call themselves 'Podiatrists'. Legally we must be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), a governing body who ensure practitioners continue to meet the professional standards to practice safely & effectively.
Chiropodist is the original medical term for Podiatrist, but the professional name was changed when the 3 year degree was introduced.
Foot Health Practitioner's, or FHP's, have completed a basic level Diploma and often work assisting fully qualified Podiatrists in a clinical setting. They are not registered with the HCPC and cannot legally call themselves Podiatrists.
